Centre Recognition Training
Aims
To provide an introduction to the assessment and quality processes required for all new centres that have recently undergone centre recognition.
All individuals intending to undertake the tutor, assessor or IV role within a centre which has recently been OCN centre recognised. All new centres must send appropriate personnel to one of these sessions within 4 months of gaining centre recognition.
Session is also suitable for any individual who is recently new or returning to the assessor or IV role within a centre delivering OCN accreditation. (In some cases participants may attend the individual session on IV only but this must be discussed and agreed prior to the session).
Target Group
All newly centre recognised organisations or individuals new to OCN accreditation.
Objective
To provide an introduction to the assessment and quality processes required for all new centres that have recently undergone centre recognition.
Session Content
Session will cover all the basic information that is required for a centre to begin to deliver and quality assure an N/OCN course. The session will allow participants to clarify any gaps in understanding and to share ideas and concerns with other providers.
- Outline the quality assurance cycle for OCN North East Region
- Outline the components of an OCN unit
- Explain the principles and purpose of assessment
- Explain the principles and purpose of internal verification
- Practice creating assessment plans
- Undertake internal verification activities
Advice for attendance at this training will be given at the familiarisation visit by the Quality Reviewer allocated to each centre and based on the following judgements made at that visit and in consultation with the Quality Assurance Manager who has completed a risk assessment.
