Quality Assurance
Quality Assurance, supported at the point of delivery, underpins all OCN North East Region credit achievement and qualifications. OCNs approve centres that can demonstrate the ability to meet national requirements for course delivery and quality assurance to support credit awards and qualifications. The core of quality assurance within OCN North East Region is to ensure that all awards are valid and valued and that means working with providers to raise standards for the benefit of all learners across the North East.
The quality system operated by all Open College Networks is designed to:
- Provide consistency and fairness of service to recognised centres
- Provide an effective system of Quality Review to ensure the security of the Award of credit
- Support centres in the quality improvement of OCN accredited provision
As a Recognised Centre you will agree to meet the specific requirements detailed in the Centre Recognition Application regarding internal quality assurance arrangements and this will be explained to you within the centre recognition process. Systems will vary between centres according to what is appropriate to particular situations. Practices that work in a large Centre may not necessarily work in a small one and therefore OCN North East Region staff will advise and support a centre to find the most appropriate way to ensure that centre recognition requirements are met.
