Qualification Summary
The NOCN Level 3 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector is an initial teaching qualification aimed at those intending to fulfil an associate teacher role.
The qualification has been developed by Lifelong Learning UK in consultation with Awarding Bodies and providers as part of the teaching qualifications framework (TQF) for the FE sector.
From September 2007, all new teachers are required to gain a licence to practice at the start of their career. The NOCN Level 3 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector is a programme suitable for all new teachers in the sector and provides the minimum statutory standards for all those entering the teaching profession in the Associate teaching role. Learners achieving the qualification will gain a licence to practice and gain Associate Teacher, Learning and Skills (ATLS) status.
