Further Education
OCN North East Region works with Further Education Colleges across the North East. Our qualifications from Entry Level to Level Three are well suited to the personalised learning plans of young people aged 14-19, and adults. Whether for entry to employment or to enable progression to further study within FE or other educational sectors, OCN credit based qualifications help colleges to retain learners, encourage achievement and reward success. We have QCF qualifications in a range of subjects from fashion to floristry, garden design to gaining employment, car maintenance to customer service skills. The FE Colleges we work with also deliver our Regional Programme in Access to HE, which has been developed by practitioners to meet the needs of learners in our region. There are a range of pathways that lead to the achievement of an Access to HE Diploma, recognised by QAA. We also provide an extensive programme of support for tutors using this innovative approach to preparing students for Higher Education. See our section on Access to HE for further details.
