North East Business Awards – a contender

OCN North East Region entered the prestigious North East Business Awards (Durham and Wearside section) in the categories ''Employer of the Year'' and ''Public Sector Organisation of the Year'' 2007/8.

We were shortlisted for both awards and although we didn’t win, we are the proud owners of two framed certificates as one of the finalists in each category.

OCN North East Region properly invests in its staff, their learning and development and in their wellbeing, to bring about organisational development and significant business achievement. Entering the North East Business Awards enabled us to know more about ourselves and our performance. After a two-year period of considerable change, to be verified as a ''good employer'' was testament to the organisation’s commitment to adult learning and to the core values of the Network.
