Bespoke Units
As well as National Qualifications, OCN offers its recognised Centres access to a Unit Bank which contains an extensive range of accredited units. If the Unit Bank or the N/OCN QCF Qualifications are unable to fulfil specific curriculum requirements, then a new bespoke unit may be developed.
Bespoke Accreditation Service
As the experts in credit-based, unitised learning, with a long history of accrediting courses for a wide range of providers of education and training, OCN North East Region offers a Bespoke Accreditation Service.
This allows you to developed accredited units and courses to meet the specific needs of your learners, enabling them to receive a certificate for their achievements from a national Awarding Organisation.
Our bespoke units sit alongside our Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) qualifications.
The standards we apply to the development and quality assurance of bespoke units are exactly the same as those we apply to QCF units and qualifications – we don’t cut corners.
This means that you and your learners can be assured that certificates have national value and recognition.

Steps to Accrediting Bespoke Units

Step 1 |
Discuss the need for new unit/s with your OCN Development Manager. A new unit may be developed when:

Step 2 |
Unit development - consider the course content and identify the elements you wish to assess. With the support of your OCN Development Manager, write draft unit outline/s which consist of Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria |

Step 3 |
Unit approval – when the units are complete, they are submitted to an OCN Approval Panel for consideration. The Approval Panel consists of OCN staff and external specialists, as appropriate. |

Step 4 |
Final approval for each unit is given, following the decision of the Approval Panel |
