Bespoke Units

As well as National Qualifications OCN North East Region offers its Recognised Centres access to a regional Unit Bank which contains an extensive range of locally accredited Units. If the Unit Bank or the NOCN QCA Qualifications are unable to fulfill specific curriculum requirements then new bespoke Units can be developed. Bespoke Units can be particularly useful to employers and organisations wishing to deliver specialist learning programmes. Examples of recently created bespoke Units are: Dry Stone Walling; The Confident Consumer; Graffiti Removal, and Campaigning and Lobbying.

Creating a novel, bespoke Unit allows a programme of accredited learning to be constructed that is expressly tailored to the precise needs of learners.

How can I create a new Unit?

To discuss your requirements regarding bespoke OCN Units please contact your Quality Accreditation Manager in the first instance. Click here for contact details. Your Quality Accreditation Manager will provide you with access to the NOCN Unit template and guide you through the whole process of bespoke Unit creation.

All OCN Units are written and approved in the same way, utilising quality assurance processes to ensure that they have appropriate curriculum content and are set at a level and credit value that is consistent. All new Units developed by OCN North East Region will be presented in the national QCF format and where possible, be mapped to National Occupational Standards and Skills for Life.

NB Bespoke Units will not form part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework
